5 Minute Bathroom

The Five Minute Bathroom is a domestic prototype commissioned by Wallpaper magazine. The prefabricated, freestanding unit arrives ready to be installed in any generic living space and accommodates in assembly-line fashion, all tasks necessary to face the day.

The molded fiberglass shell integrates not only wet functions (washing, eliminating), but also related activities (sleeping, dressing). A digitally activated Janus-faced mirror serves back to back washing and dressing zones. The self-supporting contoured skin of the Five Minute Bathroom resembles the makeup and lotions, underwear and outerwear it efficiently stores; a malleable surface that enables the performing body to fashion identity.
